What a great episode! I haven’t listened to Confessions of a Knife in years. This episode forced me to listen to it with new ears. Thank you!
Back in the late ’80’s you could send $1 to The Mindway Corporation (at Wax Trax Chicago) and they would send back a “Fun Facts” sheet. It was a great resource for lyrics, samples, and mini interviews with the band. You make the Days of Wine and Roses connection, another one is the song title Rivers of Blood, Years of Darkness which was also a book about the Watts Riots of the ’60s. I am always learning more about this band, sometimes by accident. I recently found a sealed vinyl copy of an old sound effects record that looks a lot like the cover for I See Good Spirits, and is even one of the photo sources for the TKK record. There’s just SO much to this record.
“I’ll have you shot.”
“Have you lost your mind?”
That’s not from One Flew Over, that’s from Day of the Dead.
